Sawing of standard plastics is a simple separation technique in the processing industry. Yet various parameters need to be taken into consideration, when sawing plastic materials, as otherwise there is a danger of rough cutting edges. In the classical sector of processing plastic pipe systems, the parts (in this case pipes) can be cut with a band saw, but with a circular saw as well, which depends on shape and dimension of the semi-finished product.

The chart above and the attached pictures show, that for hard and brittle materials, e.g. PVC, higher cutting speeds and small tooth pitches are recommended. PE and PP tend to heat up, for this reason lower cutting speeds are advisable.
