PLASTIC VALVES ACCORDING TO ATEX NEW GUIDELINES ACCORDING TO ATEX 2014/34 / EU

ATEX DIRECTIVE 94 / 9EG Since 01.07.2003, valves intended for use in explosion-hazard zones must be approved in accordance with Directive 94/9 / EC. From 20.04.2016 the guideline 2014/34 / EU will apply. VALVES MADE OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE POLYPROPYLENE (PP-EL) MATERIAL DESCRIPTION For special applications, the manufacturer SAFI has developed a new range of conductive PP fittings with a graphite content. The graphite accessory allows these "HIGH-PERFORMANCE" valves to achieve electrical resistance values ​​that are well below the prescribed limits of the current ATEX directive. A high quality plastic that conducts electricity. Thus, the emergence of static charge inside the valve is already avoided in advance.

ATEX RANGE

Our conductive ball valves have already been available and in use for several years as hand-operated valves in sizes DN 15 to DN 100. Optionally we deliver the fittings with EPDM, FKM and FEP / FFKM seals. In addition, they are available with ATEX-compliant pneumatic or electric drives including accessories.

As a further product group, we are now offering three different angular seat fittings in the product range. From April 2016, SAFI manual shut-off valves, check valves and strainers in sizes DN 15 to DN 50 made of conductive PP are also available.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE SAFI certifies that the ball valves and angle seat fittings we supply are made of conductive polypropylene. The ball valves, with a specific resistance of <1,000,000 ohms, as well as the oblique seat fittings, with a specific resistance of <10,000 ohms, are classified as electrically dissipative (non-chargeable) and therefore comply with the ATEX directives. The conformity of our valves is certified by us in cooperation with external testing institutes. For further information we are always available.
